Congratulations to the VMHS FFA Chapter

 

Congratulations to the Veterans Memorial FFA Chapter who recently returned home from the

87th Annual Texas State FFA Convention with several honors. Rene Olivarez placed second in

the Texas FFA extemporaneous speaking contest.

                 Four Veterans Memorial FFA Chapter students were also awarded the organization's highest bestowed degree, the Lone Star FFA Degree. They were: Christina Reyna, Samantha Diaz, Zenaida Alaniz, David Bazan Jr.

                The Lone Star Degree recognizes FFA members who have received the Chapter Degree, been active FFA members for at least two years, completed at least four semesters of agricultural science at or above the ninth grade level, maintained a supervised agricultural experience (SAE) program, demonstrated their leadership skills and have shown a commitment to the FFA through involvement at the chapter level and above.
