Course Description

The Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) course is designed to improve leadership and citizenship skills, while instilling self-esteem, teamwork, and self discipline in each Cadet. JROTC helps to develop in Cadets the tools and life skills they will use not only in high school, but more importantly in their endeavors after high school. The Cadets have the opportunity to compete on academic, leadership, drill and physical fitness teams that compete throughout the year.  Enrollment and participation in the JROTC Program does NOT obligate the Cadet to serve in any of the Armed Forces at any timeThe basic tenant of the course is to instill discipline and self-confidence in the student to help prepare them for life after high school.

JROTC IS an extra circular student organization that seeks to make young people better citizens through the study and development of life skills such as; leadership, conflict resolution, financial management, career planning, service learning, planning, social responsibility, nutrition, physical fitness & wellness, respect of self and others and learning what it means to be an American citizen. Put simply, the JROTC program provides students with the life skills needed to succeed and excel during High School, in College or in the workforce. While other school programs assist student development in the above areas as well, the JROTC does so in a more structured atmosphere that integrates the Values of Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity and Personal Courage.
